The Multidisciplinary Artist of Life
(E)Lena Marie Muse (emphasis on the long “E” and you’ll say my first name right) is lover of slow mornings, cultural exchanges, fresh air, and embodied experiences. As care-centered human being practicing unsubscribing from overdoing, she embraces a live-well first, work-to-live-fuller second, mentality. Elena is a responsible daughter, empathic friend, and chosen auntie to many, who grew up fast, yet focused, in South Central Los Angeles. She is currently learning more about her Belizean heritage and studying Italian because she enjoys expanding her worldview and discovering new ways to express herself. Motivated by her involvement in different facets of the arts during her youth, Elena’s multidisciplinary creative practices include poetry, audiobook narration, and the occasional musing into modeling or performing as unique opportunities arise and align.
The Racer Turned Riser
Growing up running long-distance track and cross-country, Elena had visions of becoming a coach. Now she runs the distance as an exuberant Executive Coach and CEO at Confide Creative with her inspiring clients who venture from all walks of life ready to sprint, pace, or stride turning their exercised skillsets into creative superpowers. In her coaching practice, she uses a wide variety of intermodal techniques including creative writing, somatic movement, and vocal amplification to help her clients unearth or connect to their creativity as they ascend to new heights at the intersection of their personal-meets-professional development.
The Optimized Leader & Ongoing Learner
Elena also holds space as an educator, facilitator, and strategic consultant (due to her combined 15 years of experience in arts & culture presenting, community engagement, career services, higher education, and talent development) for forward thinking teams ready to elevate or integrate creative approaches into their work culture, project management, equity frameworks, or leadership development. She holds an MFA in Management and Creative Producing from CalArts and a BA from LMU where studies focused on Theater, Dance, African American Studies, and Education. Inspired by the tenacity of professionals in performing arts and entertainment, Elena serves as the Managing Director of The Career Center at The Entertainment Community Fund (formerly the Actors Fund) where she currently leads a passionate team of career counselors and creative workforce development specialists nationally, in addition to serving on the board of the International Organization for the Transition of Professional Dancers (IOTPD).
