Elena is a UCLArts & Healing certified Social Emotional Arts Facilitator, UC Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute graduate, and holds an MFA in Theatre Management & Creative Producing from CalArts and a BA in Theatre Arts (with concentrations in Dance, African-American Studies, and Education) from LMU.

Expanded Bio

ELENA MARIE MUSLAR (@elenamariemuse) is a creative workforce consultant and executive coach who partners with individuals and organizations to reimagine and redesign more care-centered approaches to work and leadership. As a self-declared "executive producer of the creative potential in people," she is the Founder and Chief Empowerment Officer of Confide Creative and serves as the Managing Director of The Career Center at the Entertainment Community Fund, formerly known as The Actors’ Fund. Elena’s personal-meets-professional coaching philosophy is rooted in three pillars: workforce equity, racial justice, and radical self-care. Her organizational clients include nationally-recognized arts organizations, major entertainment companies, higher education institutions, culturally-intentional community collectives.

Previously, Elena held leadership roles at Fractured Atlas, a national arts service organization providing fiscal sponsorship for artists, and Loyola Marymount University, where she was the go-to career coach for thousands of undergraduate and graduate students in the School of Film and Television and College of Communication and Fine Arts; and the first recipient of the Enrollment Management Division Creativity & Innovation Award. After a decade of advocacy for the importance of undergraduate exposure to arts administration and career management, during her time as a professor at LMU, Elena launched and taught the first ever cross-departmental course between Dance, Theatre, Music, and Studio Arts, Introduction to Business in the Arts. She has also guest lectured at USC, NYU, UCLA, CSULB, East LA College, University of Wyoming, and more. After her getting her start in the arts through Towne Street Theatre as a kid, which set the foundation and inspiration for her creative career, Elena was recognized by TST in 2018 as a Next Gen Honoree. In 2019, the County of Los Angeles honored Elena, a native of South Central Los Angeles for her leadership in the arts & creative economy, commitment to cultural equity & inclusion, and dedication to community affairs & civic pride.

With an extensive background in arts and culture presenting along with professional development events producing for creatives, Elena is a sought-after speaker, occasional commercial model, enthusiastic poetic wordsmith, and member of the Audio Publishers Association developing her next creative chapter as an audiobook narrator. In her spare time, she enjoys seeing theatre, singing joyfully, sipping tea, and playing tennis or chess. Elena is a graduate of the UC Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute and UCLArts & Healing Social Emotional Arts Facilitator Program. She earned her MFA in Theatre Management & Creative Producing from CalArts and BA in Theatre Arts (with concentrations in Dance, African-American Studies, and Education) from LMU.
